Jesus Calms The Storm

Jesus Calms The Storm

Dear Friends,

What a day! I’d been with a crowd of people all afternoon. I was exhausted! My disciples and I got into a boat to cross the lake. I soon fell asleep.

Suddenly I was shaken out of my sleep. A terrible windstorm had blown up. The waves were high. My disciples were panicked. I got up and ordered the wind and the waves to be quiet. My friends were surprised. Didn’t they realize yet that I am the Son of God?

When you are having problems, you may think that you’re alone. Remember this story, and know I am with you always…

Signed,
Your friend, Jesus

Mark 4:35-41

Jesus Calms the Storm

On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” And leaving the crowd behind, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. Other boats were with him. A great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped.  But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him up and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”  He woke up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm. He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?”  And they were filled with great awe and said to one another, “Who, then, is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

In my life…

Dear Jesus,

Help me to know you are close to me when times are tough. I need only to call your name and you will help me. I believe that you are in my heart and that you are always there. Jesus, I trust in you.
